What this directory is

Rock County Waterproofing Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource covering 28 waterproofing businesses serving Rock County, Wisconsin. It’s built for homeowners dealing with a wet basement, a failing sump pump, foundation seepage, or crawl space moisture, who want a clear-eyed way to compare local companies before they call anyone.

We also generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with a company, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for doing so. That arrangement is disclosed again on the quote page, and it never affects scores or earned rankings. The two functions, the directory and the enquiry matching, are kept deliberately separate.

How listings are built

Each listing starts from publicly available business information: things like service area, years operating, licensing status where posted, and the services a company advertises. We layer in a synthesis of recent Google review activity for that business, summarized in our own words. We don’t republish review text or star ratings wholesale; instead we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.

How rankings work

Rankings are earned, not sold. They come from a published rubric applied consistently to the data we collect, covering things like review sentiment trends, responsiveness signals, and service consistency. You can read the full breakdown at /methodology/. No business pays to move up the list, and no business can buy its way past a competitor with a stronger data profile.

A listed business can request corrections to its own facts, its address, phone number, service list, or similar details, and we’ll update those promptly once verified. What a business cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or its position in the ranking. That separation is the whole point of the rubric: the editorial team controls it, not the businesses being ranked.

Sponsorship, when present

Some pages may carry a sponsored placement. Any sponsored listing is clearly labelled “Sponsored,” displayed in its own section separate from the ranked list, and has zero influence on where a business lands in the earned rankings below it. If you can’t find a “Sponsored” tag on a page, treat everything on it as unpaid, ranked placement.

This directory is published by Rock County Waterproofing Guide, an independent publisher, not a waterproofing contractor. We don’t sell rankings, and we don’t do the digging work ourselves; we help you compare who does.
